About the Role
Loan Factory is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance & Capital Markets to lead both financial operations and secondary market execution. This role uniquely combines the responsibilities of a Controller and a Lending / Capital Markets Manager, overseeing accounting integrity while optimizing loan sales, pricing strategy, and investor relationships.
You will play a critical role in scaling a high-growth, AI-powered mortgage platform by ensuring financial accuracy, liquidity management, and profitability across loan production and sale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership (Controller Function)

Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with GAAP

Maintain internal controls, policies, and audit readiness

Manage cash flow, forecasting, and treasury functions

Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, financial planning, and strategic decisions
2. Capital Markets & Secondary (Lending Manager Function)

Manage loan pricing strategy, rate sheets, and margin optimization

Oversee loan sales, delivery, and execution in the secondary market

Build and maintain relationships with investors, aggregators, and warehouse lenders

Monitor lock pipeline, hedging strategies, and pull-through performance

Ensure best execution across all loan products and channels

Analyze market trends, spreads, and profitability of loan sales
3. Risk, Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with financial, lending, and regulatory requirements

Oversee warehouse line usage, reconciliation, and reporting

Monitor exposure risks related to interest rates, pipeline, and liquidity

Coordinate with compliance and audit teams
4. Systems & Process Optimization

Lead implementation and optimization of financial and capital markets systems

Partner with technology teams to enhance automation, AI-driven pricing, and reporting

Improve operational efficiency across accounting and secondary functions
5. Team Leadership

Build, lead, and mentor accounting and capital markets teams

Establish KPIs and performance metrics aligned with company growth goals

Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred)

8–12+ years of experience in mortgage finance, with exposure to both accounting and secondary markets

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

Deep understanding of mortgage secondary markets, loan pricing, and hedging

Experience managing warehouse lines and investor relationships

Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams

Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

Experience with mortgage LOS, pricing engines, and financial systems
